On Wednesday, Reading finally ended their abstinence from signing on dotted lines with the announcement that George Earthy had joined the club on a permanent deal from West Ham United.

The 21-year-old penned a three-year deal at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, as the Londoner bid farewell to the Hammers, whose academy he joined at the age of five. Five was also the number of first team appearances Earthy made for West Ham, during which he spent 44 minutes on the pitch.

That is not much for Reading fans to go on, but thankfully the England under-21 international had two loans at Bristol City in the Championship, featuring 51 times for the Robins in total. With that, The Biscuit breaks down Earthy’s career so far, what we can expect and where he might fit into Leam Richardson’s side.
