A year ago, Jacob Brown was gearing up for his first season in League One since his breakout 2017/18 campaign as a youngster at Barnsley. It wasn’t a long stay in the third tier, as the then-Luton Town man was loaned out to Championship side Portsmouth from February until the end of the season.
A Premier League player with the Hatters three seasons ago with eight Scotland caps to his name, Brown is clear in his ambitions that the 2026/27 season is going to be another short and sweet period in League One – sharing the club’s goal of promotion was a big factor in his decision to sign for Reading on a two-year deal.
