Saturday’s 2-2 draw away at Wycombe Wanderers hurt not only because it was a wasted opportunity for three points on the road in front of another packed-out away end, not only because we conceded goals to Jayden Wareham and Danny Ings, not only because Wycombe were circling Bearwood Park like vultures during our darkest days, but because it was a game reminiscent of last season, where Reading threw away too many points late on.

It’s the third time Reading have dropped points from winning positions in the league alone this term, but at least the Royals took something from Adams Park, unlike the defeats to Luton Town and Cambridge United.
