Reading have begun the 2026/27 EFL League One season as if auditioning for their own “All or Nothing” documentary series, even if giving All one week and Nothing the next is not exactly the premise of the Amazon show.

Following a thrilling yet heartbreaking 4-3 loss at home to title-chasing Luton Town on the opening day, the Royals travelled to South London to face relegation-favourites AFC Wimbledon, and grinded out a 0-0 draw that will not live long in the memory.

Reading’s attack, which looked like world beaters in the first half against Luton, has seldom been seen since – the visitors produced 13 attempts at Plough Lane, but only three on target. The best chance fell to Kyreece Lisbie, who reacted well to Josh Stokes’ initial effort being parried by the goalkeeper, but his strike on the rebound was well blocked.
